The Objective

Micro Printing came to Dimension Media asking for a solution to help them manage the increasing number of people uploading files to them via the web for printing jobs. Micro Printing needed a simple, easy to use solution for it’s mostly non-tech audience. At the same time, there was a need to tie this system into the current “ticket” system currently in place.

The Solution

Dimension Media created a custom solution using PHP/mySQL that would allow someone to create a print order online and, with a few clicks, be able to attach large print-quality files for digital transfer. The software also allows customers to create accounts and to have Micro-Printing update items such as job status. Customers do not have to call to see where their order is - they can simply check the website.

The Results

• Overall increase in web taffic, and less management of physical disks.
• Time saved by Micro-Printing staff in not manually creating printing orders or responding to requests for job updates.
• File archives allow files for jobs not to be lost.
